HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?

Unlike most DJs, we do not require you to purchase a “package”. You can simply let us know when you’d like us to set up and tear down, and we charge $150 an hour for basic DJ services. If you want to take advantage of other services like live piano or singer, uplighting, karaoke, photo booth, or advanced consultation, you can create a custom package tailored to your specific needs. So, you never pay for services that you don’t need.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

You can pay with Paypal, cash/check, or credit card.

HOW AND WHEN DO I PAY?

You can pay at the event location with cash or check. Payment by Paypal or credit card can be made by vising the “Make A Payment” page right here on this website, or by an online invoice sent to your email. In some cases advanced payment is allowed, but in most cases an invoice will be created and given to you after the event. Once a date is reserved, a $100 deposit may be required in advance of the event.

SHOULD I TIP MY DJ?

Tips are gratefully accepted. They are a reflection of appreciation based on the quality of the service. If you think your DJ did an amazing job, then a tip of $50-$100 is common. However, while it is appreciated, it is not expected like a tip for a waiter.

DO YOU TAKE REQUESTS DURING THE DANCE?

Yes! You and your guests may make requests during the event. Any song is available upon request. If you prefer, you can also instruct the DJ not to accept requests.

CAN I CHOOSE MY PLAYLIST?

Sure! You can have as little or as much input as you want. Whether you want to choose every song, or make a list of favorites and must-haves, or just give general advice, we provide the equipment you need and the tools for you to communicate exactly what you want!

WILL YOU HELP WITH CHOOSING THE SONGS FOR MY WEDDING CEREMONY, RECEPTION OR EVENT?

Yes! People planning a wedding or event often don’t want or have time to plan all the music and song choices. It can be a big project! We have the experience, knowledge and taste to make the right choices based on your basic guidelines. This website also provides valuable suggestions, advice and planning tools to help you save time and get exactly what you want.

Usually, it’s best to take a few moments to make a list of songs you want, or don’t want. Whether it’s a big list or just a few songs, your DJ can choose the rest based on your list as his or her own expertise and experience.

WHAT IF I WANT LIVE MUSICIANS/VOCALISTS AT MY CEREMONY, OR A LIVE BAND AT MY RECEPTION?

DJ Part A can provide live piano and/or vocalists for your wedding ceremony or event, with a variety of available performers to suit any style. If you have chosen other live musicians/singers to perform at your ceremony, or a live wedding band, we can provide the sound system, microphones, mixing console and operator that is needed.

Live musicians, especially soloists or small groups, generally do not have access to a “PA” type sound system with a mixing console, power amp, microphones and large speakers. Some indoor venues have this equipment, but they will not provide someone to operate the equipment and lights. We offer custom packages to help you create a memorable experience at your ceremony as well as your reception.

DO YOU PROVIDE LIGHTING FOR THE CEREMONY/DINNER AS WELL AS THE RECEPTION DANCE?

Yes! We can provide and install uplighting that is perfect for adding a beautiful and dramatic look to a ceremony, dinner or event venue. Uplighting is simply the easiest way to create an upscale and memorable visual appearance at your event.

WHY CHOOSE RECORDED MUSIC OVER LIVE MUSICIANS DURING MY CEREMONY?

There are several reasons to choose recorded sound over live musicians during your wedding ceremony.

Whether formal or casual, live sound at your wedding ceremony offers greater flexibility than a live soloist or musicians. It allows you to play any sound or music you can dream of! You can have elegant classical music on strings, a favorite pop, rock or country song, and even sound effects, all in the same ceremony!

At outdoor ceremonies, it is often difficult for live musicians to play at the appropriate volume, especially in windy conditions. Many often complain that they can’t hear the music or sometimes even the officiant and couple. The opposite is true for very small venues, where live musicians can be too loud.

Live sound allows easy access to microphones,  a sound system, and even portable power that may be needed during the ceremony. This can be especially important for events at a location without nearby outlets such as a park or yard. Will the officiant, singers or musicians need a microphone and speakers? This is the most important reason for having a capable sound operator on-hand at your ceremony.
